Interview with Principal
Here is an interview with Carwyn Caffell, Principal of Oroua Downs School.
Oroua Downs was one of the first schools to use KiwiSchools 2.0. The school has a roll of around 100 students, and five teachers. It's located west of Palmerston North, on the #1 highway between Bulls and Foxton.
Q: When did you move to Oroua Downs?
A: Term 2, 2009
Q: Did the school have a website presence at the time?
A: No
Q: Why did you want a website for the school?
A: Because if provides a competitive edge and is what is expected by parents today….having a website is a real selling point. It puts your school out there.
We’ve actually just had a family relocate to the area from Auckland, and it was predominately due to our professional looking website that they enrolled with us before they arrived.
We all know that smaller schools have limited money but I saw it as a real priority.
Q: Why did you choose KiwiSchools?
A: I had a previous relationship with KiwiSchools and have always been happy with the service.

A: Definitely great value for money!

Q: How do you find the administration and updating of your site?
A: I’m certainly not a “computer geek” but it’s so user friendly and easy to maintain….I really enjoy keeping it updated, and I know from the positive feedback that we have had from the parents and the wider community they appreciate it too.
